{"id":1141,"date":"2021-03-13T12:32:00","date_gmt":"2021-03-13T01:32:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blueknobgallery.com\/gallery\/?p=1141"},"modified":"2025-03-20T12:54:31","modified_gmt":"2025-03-20T01:54:31","slug":"out-on-a-limb","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blueknobgallery.com\/gallery\/out-on-a-limb\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201cOut on a Limb\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Our first exhibition for the year is called \u2018Out on a limb\u2026..\u2019which once again seems an appropriate theme given what the last year has been and with the possibility of more to come for a while yet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This theme covers a variety of ideas and possibilities of interpretation. Many of us have felt a bit \u2018out on a limb\u2019 over this last year in regards to not knowing where we\u2019re headed, dangling at the end of a branch, wondering and watching if we\u2019re about to fall off or not. Many different opinions have been expressed around so many issues over the last year and when that happens, controversy can put one in a risky place and the phrase \u2018going out on a limb\u2019 can have that connotation as well. It also relates literally to a part of an animal or human body as distinct from the head and trunk. With tree limbs, artificial limbs, the \u2018four limbs of a cross\u2019 and \u201cgoing out on a limb\u201d the variety of work from the artists exhibiting makes for interesting interpretations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The exhibition runs until Saturday April 3rd.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Blue Knob Hall is supported by its members and friends as a not for profit community gallery, caf\u00e9 and ceramic studio. The membership helps immensely with ongoing costs of keeping us alive and thriving. The benefits of being a member are the access to exhibiting if you\u2019re an artist, 10% discount on art\/craft purchases if you support the arts, and a variety of other options .As a member you can volunteer on a regular basis or help out when you can.
