The new exhibition at Blue Knob Hall Gallery is titled \u2018A Fine Line\u2019. We use the expression \u2018to walk a fine line\u2019 t<\/em>o mean “to achieve or maintain a balance” or “to be very close to two different ideas or attitudes at the same time”. Sometimes in life there is a \u2018line\u2019 we cross unknowingly, and in the making of artwork we often make a fine line in the process of drawing, painting, or sculpture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A line in art can express anything the artist wishes it to; with mark making in printmaking, drawing or painting the line is often used to express the ultimate in light and dark. An unintentional line can be formed because of the boundary between light and dark or two colours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With the contours in the landscape by Ian FitzSimons piece, and the abstract lines and mark-making of Michelle Walker\u2019s work the pieces in this exhibition reflect all aspects of \u2018a fine line\u2019, whether in 3D, 2D.

My Secret Garden \u2013 Heather Kimber in The Solo Space <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Heather Kimber is a ceramic artist who is the guiding force behind the Blue Knob Ceramic Studio. Not only a great instructor and mentor she has been creating her own works after many years of volunteering at Blue Knob Hall Gallery, running the Caf\u00e9 for many years, and the Ceramic Studio for the last two and a half years as a volunteer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Many of us have not had the opportunity to see Heather\u2019s work in the past and this is an outstanding example of her talent and expertise. A beautiful space has been created in the Gallery which beckons all to take a seat in the space and enjoy the magic of some wonderful pieces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These exhibitions run until Sat Sept 29th.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
