'The Fibre Show'
June 7th - August 4th 2013
Thursday to Sunday 10am - 4pm
Artists and crafts persons from this area and beyond, from a variety of disciplines, are exhibiting in Blue Knob Hall Gallery’s annual fibre exhibition.
Beautifully crafted felted clothing, basketry, tapestry and sculptural works have lifted these crafts from their humble beginnings into the realms of wearable art and major artworks in themselves.
Fibre art has become an integral part of the art and craft heritage of this unique part of the world, and new generations continue to be excited by and are carrying on the skills and traditions of working with fibre. The creative sculptural works, the practical and functional pieces and vibrant garments celebrate fibre in all its forms.
This is an inspiring and innovative exhibition which once again showcases the quality and the durability of the Fibre Arts.
The Fibre Show runs until 4th August.
The exhibition will be opening on Fri 6th June at 6:30pm. A set meal is available at $15 mains and $4 desserts. Bookings are essential so please phone the Gallery on 66897449.
Art, coffee and scenery all available at beautiful Blue Knob Hall Gallery & Café.
Blue Knob Hall Gallery’s space often allows it to show quite large works, especially ceramics, but it’s worth remembering when you’re there to check in the corners and so on, for the smaller pieces, the lithographs and drawings, which are often well-executed and maintain a simplicity that is worth appreciating.
