"The Artist's Choice"
'The Artist’s Choice’ exhibition is the current show at Blue Knob Hall Gallery. This exhibition is freed from the constraints of a theme and allows for a wider variety of work.
This show has a different feel, and the work that has come in from the artists is diverse, interesting and playful. Pieces like Jenny Blow’s hand painted rocks that would fit any child’s dream of creating a fairy garden, and Susan McGeever’s ceramic girl in a ‘Butterfly Garden’.
There are colourful, exuberant paintings such as Linda Frylink Andersons ‘China Cats in the Garden’ and cool and calming works by Lessi Rees and Helen Douglas.
Blue Knob Ceramic Studio teachers and students also have work in this exhibition with pieces that have been produced in the studio.
Since the inception of this ceramic studio space by Heather Kimber and it’s opening in Feb 2016 it has become incredibly popular. With Heather’s retirement from teaching, the current volunteer teachers, Genevieve Davies, Ali Walker and Lorraine Lintern have been inspiring and encouraging students to exhibit their work. In particular, some very creative teapots have been seen coming out of the kiln.
Over the last 8 years this studio and the teachers have made a huge contribution to the arts and fuelled the creative juices of many people who have come through the door. This is an opportunity for the community to see what has been going on in this wonderful creative space.
This exhibition will continue through to early February 2025
