'Icons'
3rd April - 17th May
Thursday to Sunday from 10am
The new exhibition at Blue Knob Hall Gallery is titled ‘Icons’.
Coming up to an Easter break that is celebrated in different ways either from a religious background, folk loric /cultural influences, we are reminded that there are so many ways this word can be interpreted. Taken from the Greek (eikon - image, eikenai - to be like) we even see the word ‘icon’ being used these days in the most mundane of ways to mean a pictorial representation of a facility available on a computer system!
The artists exhibiting in this show have freely interpreted this theme from the religious/spiritual aspects through to the simple beauty of a personal ‘icon’, or what is seen as iconic in the world.
The Opening night for this exhibition will be held on Fri April 10th from 6:30 pm, with a set vegetarian meal and a choice of dessert provided by Joline of Cafe Blue Knob for $20 per person. Those who would like to stay for dinner, please contact the Gallery on 6689 7449 as bookings are essential.
The exhibition will run until Sunday May 17th.
