We would like to thank our members and artists for supporting us in raising funds for Blue Knob Hall Gallery, Café & Ceramic Studio.
The Blue Knob Hall Gallery is open Thursday to Sunday 10am -3pm.
“The Artist’s Choice” exhibition is the current show at Blue Knob Hall Gallery. This exhibition is freed from the constraints of a theme and allows for a wider variety of work. This show has a different feel, and the work that has come in from the artists is diverse, interesting and playful.
Inspiration has been drawn from the natural world around us; particularly the ocean, creeks and beach and the ever-changing relationship between land and water.
Each year, Blue Knob Gallery transforms into a rich tapestry of colour, texture, and tradition for its annual Fibre Show—a celebration of contemporary and traditional fibre art in all its forms. Aptly titled Material Gains, this year’s exhibition showcases the incredible versatility and beauty of fibre-based practices, from age-old techniques to modern interpretations.
A “Sense of Place” invites artists to participate in a diverse and thoughtful interpretation of what it means to connect with place.
Pandora’s Box The story of Pandora’s Box is an eternal metaphor for the human experience and its final element – Hope, feels more relevant than ever in today’s world. In the myth, Pandora releases suffering and chaos into the world, this myth continues to mirror our modern struggles: climate change, political unrest, inequality and global crises. Yet just…
“We Were Young Once” members show highlights the first inspirations towards being an artist. “Relics V” by Renita Glencross is presenting a collection of multi-media fibre-works created from journeys through desert, sea & forest over the last decade.
‘The Artist’s Choice’ members exhibition is freed from the constraints of a theme and allows for a wider variety of work from local artists.
“Where We Live” suggests looking at the essence of our environments – whether physical or emotional – and the impact they have on our lives.
“Fabric of Life” is the members annual Fibre Show at the Gallery, and is one we look forward to every year.
The exhibiting artists have played with this theme that seemingly never ends.… the lines that we see in nature, the ‘lines’ in architecture, a simple line of a road or track that disappears into the distance and leads us somewhere else.
“From Earth We Come” is the new artists and members exhibition in the main gallery area. The theme for this exhibition was to evoke images of nature and the interconnectedness between humanity and nature.
“Art from the heART” is the new artists and members exhibition to start off the programme for 2024 at Blue Knob Hall Gallery.
‘The Artist’s Choice’ is the final exhibition for 2023 and with no designated theme the artists could bring in any works they wish to exhibit.
Artists were inspired by a poem, a line from a poem or song, a piece of text or their own writing, to create a visual work. There are some touching and heartfelt pieces, along with the whimsical and humorous.
Blue Knob Hall Gallery is having a‘re-used’ art sale/exhibition called ‘Pre-Loved, Re-Loved’.
We embroider, sew, felt, sculpt and weave. We transform fibre into the practical and take what nature gives us and turn that into items that keep our bodies’ warm or cool. We transform fibre into the practical and take it into the creative realms of art.
‘The Young Ones- Rivers & Rainbows’ is an exhibition for young people 18yrs and under (3 age categories) with prizes. Celebrating Aquarius 50.
This exhibition is open to any artwork that artists and members wish to bring in. It’s always a treat to see what arrives.
As artists and artisans these two crucial elements can be one of the most challenging aspects of making art.
The Artist’s Choice is an annual exhibition that doesn’t have a theme for the artists to work with, but is always a surprise when artwork that comes in often has random, connected elements that run through them.
This exhibition by Heather Kimber, Genevieve Davies, Ali Walker, Cathryn Binstead and Tomoko Houtzager is about friendship and a playful compilation of ceramics.
‘Less is More’ in the Main Gallery and ‘Time’s Almost Up’ by Amelia de Zwart in The Solo Space will be the two new exhibitions opening in August.
Fabulous Fibre – The Fibre Show. The first fibre exhibition held at Blue Knob Hall Gallery in 2005 was called “Feeling for Fibre” where twenty-five weavers, quilters, felt-makers and sculptors showcased the innovative, creative and functional forms that felt making and fibre were becoming.
Sacred Landscapes as a theme, was initiated by the Blue Knob Writers Group and was enthusiastically welcomed when they approached the Gallery about launching their anthology and exhibiting artworks—some from the anthology and some specially commissioned—in The Solo Space.
