The title of this exhibition has evoked many responses as you can all see by the incredible variety of work that has come in for this show.
We’ve all made journeys in our lives, travelling to other countries, travelling around this country, just going down the road to visit friends, go shopping, meeting people, gathering for celebrations or joining in protests that have reverberations around the country and the world.
All of these journeys take us physically from one point to another, and more often than not contribute to the inner journey that we take for our own sake, our health, happiness, or political and spiritual view points.
Journeys give us an experience of the changing nature of the universe we live in and of which we are an inseparable part of.
A small seed grows and changes into the mature plant or tree, and the inner journey we take as human beings can also reflect that process of growing and maturing into the people we want to be.
These artworks reflect that often the outer and inner journeys are one and the same thing. They have been expressed through the creative process of imagination, feeling and sometimes just a sense of delight and curiosity about a particular piece of this world that we live in.
Once again the members and artists who exhibit here have started 2014 off with some fantastic work and another great looking show. Our deepest thanks go to all those who continue to support Blue Knob Hall Gallery & Café and all that it has been and all that it will become, it has had an incredible journey of its own.
Blue Knob Hall Choir, will sing us some songs of travel and journeys.
The Exhibition will run from Friday 14th February to Saturday 5th April.
