Earth’s Treasures – the theme Earth’s Treasures was deliberately open to interpretation and we invite you to discover the many ways our members have explored this theme and to enjoy their unique perspectives, creativity and connection to the world around us in this exhibition.

Relics & Keepsakes – Renita and Christine are two local artists who are collaborating for this exhibition of their work. With art practices that are very different in style and mediums, they both share a fascination with the value we place in earthly objects and have created works that investigate and interpret the significance these treasures have in their lives.
Renita works with natural fibres, dyes & found objects, constructing sculptural forms through her traditional weaving practice with blends of basketry, felting, binding and stitching. In this edition of Relics (#VI) Renita responds to grief; and explores the use of fabric remnants & human-hair as energy-anchors across cultural and transcendental boundaries.
Christine has continued to explore the objects around her that have been gifted, collected or inherited from family and friends. These keepsakes take on a life of their own when they are taken out of their context and placed in an artwork, sometimes to the amusement of the artist herself and hopefully for the pleasure of others. Each painting has objects that have a story and a deep connection to the people in her life.
